Safety GuidelinesDownload the pdf of the full guidelines The challengeWaterAid’s Go with the flow challenge is being undertaken to raise £37,500 for the provision of WaterAid funded safe water, sanitation and hygiene promotion projects to some of the world’s poorest people in Asia and Africa. As WaterAid can provide clean water for life for just £15 a head, the challenge could change the lives of 2,500 people. Everyone is encouraged to raise as much money as possible for WaterAid. Each Team Leader must be over 18 years of age and teams must consist of four to seven people. You can of course enter as many teams as you wish as long as there is at least one over 18 for each team. Each Team Leader will provide a first point of contact for team members. Each team member is being asked to raise a minimum of £30 to support WaterAid – that’s enough to provide clean water for life for two people. Team Leader’s responsibilitiesAs Team Leader you must be over 18 and be willing to be responsible for your team. You must ensure that your team members are aware of the safety issues involved with your walk and particularly with the special risks of being near water. You must register your team through the online system at www.wateraidgowiththeflow.org. As part of the process you will be asked to confirm that you will take responsibility for your team on the day. You should take particular care if you have people under 18 in your team. The final decision on whether the team participates in the challenge will rest with the appropriate Walk Manager. You must fully brief all your team members. These guidelines will be available online in addition to other Go with the flow challenge information. All team members must read these instructions carefully. You must ensure, as far as practical, that the level of fitness of each of your team is adequate for the walk you are undertaking. It is good practice to have an appropriate map of the walk you are undertaking unless you are very familiar with the route. |
